Founded in 1971, Cuisinart is a brand of kitchen appliances and is one of the first acquisition in popularity in the United States. The company was founded by Carl Sontheimer, nearly 40 years ago, initially in finding success through the food processor with the same name.
Sontheimer was born in New York in 1914. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where it received a degree in engineering. While participation in the MIT, Sontheimer was impressed by the microwave radiation technology, while reportedly completely destroyed by the cruel food in his fraternity.
After graduation, MIT, Sontheimer invented a number of technical devices, a total of 47 patented elements. He was the most successful in the microwave direction finger, which is ultimately used in NASA missions to the moon. Before 1970, Sontheimer began, flourished, and then sold to a range of electronics and engineering company.
Despite this success, Sontheimer constantly looking for new project, this time hoping to combine business intelligence with his own lifelong passion for cooking. He returned to France, where I spent his childhood, and discovered a new kitchen appliance, web.mit.edu would describe as a "complicated industrial blender." "This machine is a horror game to me," Sontheimer later found. "It is perfectly safe."
Despite the obvious danger, Sontheimer and his wife, Shirley, he soon realized, this invention could be modified to work well as a home kitchen appliance. Sontheimer soon acquired the rights to the invention, and months of the amendments, the "Cuisinart" was ready for the kitchen.
After a few years, the public realized the advantage of this new kitchen equipment. Housewares never before knew that cutting, chopping, grating and blending a convenient and easy way.
As for the future, Sontheimer imaginary new kitchen appliances are more concise.
"The population will grow, not land," he said. "There will be a smaller living space, and the kitchen will be getting smaller. There will be less space and less energy is available per person. All ovens will ovens, food processors will be able to."
